Over 50 % of those in search of love on line at risk of love frauds

The latest study commissioned by UK Finance shows:

  • A scam where someone using online dating services adopts a fake persona or picture over a quarter (27 per cent) of people who use online dating services admitted they were ‘catfished’ in the last 12 months.
  • One in five (21 percent) of men and women using internet dating services say which they met online that they have either been asked for money or have given money to someone.
  • To coincide with Valentine’s time, British Finance is people that are advising to just how to keep themselves safe from fraudulence and frauds.
